When most people picture a wedding DJ, they picture someone behind a set of decks in the evening. And that’s a big part of it — but a full day wedding DJ package covers a lot more ground than that. Here’s what actually happens from the moment we arrive to the moment we pack down.
Before the Wedding Day
The work starts long before the wedding day itself. A proper planning consultation — ideally face to face or by video call — where we talk through your vision, your guests, your venue, and every musical moment you care about. Your first dance. Whether you want ceremony audio. The feel of the wedding breakfast. The vibe for the evening.
After that, you’ll have access to an online planning portal where you can submit must-plays, do-not-plays, and preferences at any time. We review everything carefully and come to your day fully prepared.
Arrival and Setup
We arrive well ahead of your first guests — typically two to three hours before the ceremony for a full day booking. That time goes on load-in, setup, sound checking, and liaison with the venue events team. By the time your guests arrive, everything is in place and tested. There’s no scramble, no visible fuss — it simply works.
The Ceremony
For a full day package, we provide a professional PA system for the ceremony — handling your processional, any music during the signing of the register, and your recessional. We also provide a wireless microphone for your officiant so every word is heard clearly by every guest. This is often the most emotionally charged moment of the entire day, and getting the audio right matters enormously.
Drinks Reception
As guests move outside or into a separate space for drinks and canapes, we provide background music that sets exactly the right mood — relaxed and celebratory, at a volume that encourages conversation rather than competing with it. This is a transition moment, and the music plays a quiet but important role in how it feels.
Wedding Breakfast
Background music during the meal is something many couples underestimate. Silence during dinner is awkward. Music that’s too loud or too upbeat disrupts conversation. Getting the volume and feel exactly right — building gently through the meal as the atmosphere warms — requires judgment and attention. We stay present throughout, adjusting as needed.
MC and Hosting
As MC throughout the day, we handle all announcements — calling guests to the ceremony, introducing the wedding party, cueing speeches, announcing the first dance, and keeping the day running on schedule. Having a calm, experienced MC means you don’t have to worry about any of those logistics. It just happens.
The Evening Party
The evening is where everything builds. First dance, then the floor opens — and from there it’s about reading the room, building momentum, and keeping the dancefloor packed from start to finish. We mix live throughout, adapting to what’s working, responding to the crowd, and making sure the energy is exactly where it should be at every stage of the night.
Pack Down
Once the last song plays, we pack down discreetly and efficiently — liaising with the venue team and making sure everything is cleared within the agreed timeframe. You won’t notice us going. You’ll just notice that the night was everything you hoped it would be.
