Ceilidhoke — Ceilidh Dancing & Karaoke for Your Wedding Evening
Traditional ceilidh dancing woven together with karaoke, over an evening of up to 5 hours — a new way to keep every guest involved.
Most wedding evenings pick one lane — dancing all night, or a photobooth-and-karaoke corner running quietly in the background. Ceilidhoke is a new format I’ve put together that properly combines the two: ceilidh dancing and karaoke, alternating through your evening reception so guests who want to be on the floor and guests who’d rather grab the mic both get their moment. I can even add in a DJ set or two just to make sure everyone is included.
What Is Ceilidhoke?
It’s an evening of up to 5 hours that mixes ceilidh dancing with karaoke rather than treating them as separate bits of entertainment. I open with a ceilidh set — fully called, so nobody needs any experience — then move into a karaoke set, then back to dancing, shaping the balance around your guest list. If you’ve got a dance-mad crowd, we lean more towards ceilidh. If you know your guests love a singalong, we build in more karaoke. Most weddings land somewhere in between.
I call the dances and host the karaoke personally as standard, I can offer some band options, or you can bring in a live ceilidh band for the dancing sets alongside DJ-led karaoke — the same choice already available on my ceilidh calling page.
How It Works on Your Wedding Day
- Fully called ceilidh sets — clear instructions for every dance, so guests of any age or experience can join in
- Karaoke sets — a full song library, with requests taken beforehand and on the night
- A cool-down built in — karaoke gives dancers a natural breather between ceilidh sets without the energy in the room dropping
- Flexible running order — built around your day, whether that’s alternating 30–45 minute blocks or a different split entirely
- One host throughout — I run the whole evening personally, or bring in a live ceilidh band as an upgrade
- Full PA, microphones and lighting included for both the dancing and the singing
Why It’s Worth Considering
Ceilidh dancing is one of the best ways to get two families properly mixing on the dancefloor, but it’s physical — after a lively set, even keen dancers need a break. Karaoke fills that gap without letting the atmosphere sag, and it reaches the guests a straight ceilidh or disco night never quite does — the ones who’ll happily take the mic but wouldn’t dream of trying Strip the Willow. Swapping back to dancing once everyone’s had a breather keeps the evening building rather than flattening out after the first big dance set.
Adding Ceilidhoke to Your Package
Ceilidhoke can be built into any of my wedding DJ packages in place of a standard evening reception or ceilidh set. Because every wedding’s guest list and running order is different, I don’t quote a fixed price for it here — get in touch and I’ll talk through your day and give you an accurate quote alongside my published wedding DJ prices.
Not planning a wedding? Ceilidhoke is also available for birthdays, corporate events and private parties through Premier Disco.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do our guests need any ceilidh experience?
No experience required. I will guide you through each dance and it doesn’t have to be perfect, just FUN!
Can we choose the karaoke songs?
Yes, I have a huge catalog of karaoke songs. Any I don’t have I can purchase online, via legal karaoke download sites, on the night as long as there is good 4g available
Is this DJ-led or a live band?
Primarilly this is DJ led but that is completely up to you. If you prefer I can provide a professional ceilidh caller, individual musician or a ceilidh band to help the night along. You can also hire in your own band if this is your preference.
How much does Ceilidhoke cost?
Because there are various options on how this can work pricing is available on request. However, the option for a night fully DJ led the cost would be from £695
How is the evening split between dancing and karaoke?
This is totally up to you. My experience says that trying too much ceilidh in one set is extremely exhausting so I suggest the ceilidh sets being broken up with some karaoke, or DJ set, every 2 or 3 dances
