As a wedding DJ, Dundas Castle bookings are some of my favourites. If you’re planning your wedding here, you’ve already made one of the finest decisions a couple in Scotland can make. Indeed, set in 400 acres of private estate in South Queensferry, Dundas is one of those venues that does most of the work for you. Indeed, the setting is extraordinary and the spaces are stunning. Moreover, the whole place carries a warmth that photographs simply can’t capture.
In addition, you may recognise parts of the estate. For example, Dundas has served as a filming location for the hit TV series Outlander. I’ve had the pleasure of providing wedding DJ entertainment at Dundas Castle on a number of occasions, and I know it well, including the Great Hall, the Auld Keep, the grand Pavilion for larger celebrations, and the grounds for outdoor ceremonies.

What Makes This South Queensferry Estate Special
Dundas is exclusively yours for your wedding. There are no other events and no other couples — just you and your guests on 400 acres. For smaller weddings, the Great Hall is the heart of the reception — dramatic and high-ceilinged. For larger celebrations, the Pavilion provides a magnificent purpose-built space. As a result, I’ve worked in both and know exactly how to configure sound and lighting for each. The Outlander connection draws couples from across the world. That’s because the estate has a cinematic quality that makes every photograph look like a still from a period drama.
DJ at Dundas Castle — What to Expect
My approach starts long before the wedding day. It begins with a proper planning conversation to understand your vision, your guests, and the moments that matter most. You’ll have access to my online music planning portal. There, you can submit must-plays, your first dance choice, and do-not-plays at any time. Therefore, on the day I arrive early, liaise with the venue team, and set up discreetly. I don’t play pre-programmed sets or fixed playlists. Instead, I build your night live, using your music suggestions as the foundation, and I read the dancefloor moment to moment to keep the energy exactly right.
Popular Enhancements for This Venue
Both the Great Hall and Pavilion are perfectly suited to a Scottish ceilidh, uplighting, and cold spark machines. In fact, the high ceilings in both spaces respond particularly well to lighting effects. See all my enhancement options →
