Of all the East Lothian venues I get booked as wedding DJ Carberry Tower is the one that feels least like a stately home and most like somebody’s actual house, in the best possible way. Carberry Tower is one of East Lothian’s most beloved wedding venues — a Category A listed 15th-century tower house set in 35 acres of walled gardens and parkland, just 20 minutes from Edinburgh. With its distinctive turreted silhouette and beautiful grounds, it offers a classic Scottish country house wedding experience.
I’ve performed at Carberry Tower on numerous occasions, and it’s a venue I know well. Because of the combination of beautiful period interiors, the walled garden for ceremonies, and a dedicated events space, it’s a genuinely versatile venue.

What Makes This East Lothian Venue Special
Carberry has a warmth and informality that sets it apart from some of Scotland’s grander venues — a country house that feels lived-in and welcoming. The walled garden is stunning for outdoor ceremonies in summer, and the wooded estate provides endless options for photography. Because I’ve played here multiple times, I know exactly how to configure sound for the best results.
DJ at Carberry Tower — What to Expect
My approach starts long before the wedding day, with a proper planning conversation to understand your vision, your guests, and the moments that matter most. For example, you’ll have access to my online music planning portal, where you can submit must-plays, your first dance choice, and do-not-plays at any time. On the day itself, I arrive early, liaise with the venue team, and set up discreetly. However, I don’t play pre-programmed sets or fixed playlists. Instead, I build your night live, using your music suggestions as the foundation and reading the dancefloor moment to moment to keep the energy exactly right.
Popular Enhancements for This Venue
Uplighting works beautifully in the stone-walled spaces at Carberry, and a ceilidh set is always a popular addition. For example, cold spark machines and confetti cannons add dramatic moments to the first dance. See all my enhancement options →
