The Barn
Colstoun House’s stable block barn is a beautifully converted space — original stonework, a vaulted wooden ceiling, arched windows, and fairy lights strung overhead. It’s the kind of room that transforms the moment the lights come down and the music starts. It also comfortably handles both a formal wedding breakfast and a proper, lively evening party.
I bring my full sound system, lighting rig and DJ booth to every booking here. Because the barn has good access and a generous footprint, I can run the complete rig without compromise. The stone walls also give the sound real warmth, and the room fills evenly — not something every older building manages.
Wedding DJ Colstoun House — Speeches & Dinner
I provide microphones for speeches and handle the announcements to introduce each speaker. I then keep dinner warm and ambient with acoustic covers, jazz-influenced tracks and gentle soul. Because Colstoun’s stone walls carry sound beautifully at lower volumes, the background music adds to the atmosphere rather than fighting against it.
Ceilidh Dancing at Colstoun House
The barn’s stone walls and open floor make it a great room for ceilidh dancing. The sound carries well, and there’s plenty of space for a full set. The Evening Party
Once the dancing gets going, Colstoun House really comes alive — kilts, colour lighting and a packed floor are a familiar sight here. A Scottish wedding crowd with a real mix of ages is one of the most rewarding things to DJ for. This room brings that energy out particularly well.

Wedding DJ — a full evening disco service including professional sound system, lighting rig, DJ booth, and a music programme planned with you in advance. This also includes speech microphones and MC duties through the wedding breakfast.
Ceilidh Calling — I act as ceilidh caller, teaching and leading the dances with traditional music, before transitioning into the evening disco. Because no prior dance experience is needed among your guests, I bring everyone along regardless of ability.
